Update: Thruway Authority Announces Six Out Of Seven Lanes Reopened To Traffic Following Crane Accident On Tappan Zee Bridge

July 19, 2016

At Governor Cuomo’s direction, six out of seven lanes on the Tappan Zee Bridge have been reopened to traffic ahead of schedule following a crane accident earlier today.

Three lanes will be open in each direction until further notice. Motorists traveling over the Tappan Zee Bridge should plan for extended delays during their morning and evening commutes.

The southbound detours at exit 15 (New Jersey – I-287 – NJ Route 17 South) and exit 12 (West Nyack – NY Route 303 – Palisades Center Drive) are no longer in effect.
