Three lanes of the northbound Thruway (I-87/I-287) will be closed to accommodate the application of new lane markings during the overnight of Wednesday, Dec. 17. The triple-lane closure will extend four miles between exit 9 in Tarrytown and exit 11 in Nyack, and will be in effect from 11:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17 to 5 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18. One lane will remain open during this period. Prior to the triple-lane closure, two lanes of the northbound Thruway will be closed from 8 p.m. to 10:59 p.m.
This work was originally scheduled for December 12, but was delayed due to inclement weather.
The operation also will require the closure of the exit 10 off ramp from the northbound Thruway from 10 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17 to 5 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18. Motorists will be directed to use exit 11 and follow signs to Route 9W and Route 59 (see graphic below).
