The New York State Thruway Authority today opened the newly reconfigured Interchange 10 in South Nyack, one day earlier than expected. Vehicles can now access the northbound and southbound New York State Thruway (I-87/I-287) from a new signalized intersection at Route 9W and Hillside Avenue.
Motorists can continue to use the current southbound on-ramp from South Broadway up to and including tomorrow morning. The South Broadway on-ramp will be permanently closed following Thursday’s morning rush.
Electronic message signs in the vicinity are informing motorists of the new traffic pattern and updated road signs are directing motorists to the new intersection.
With this new traffic pattern, the Hudson Link bus stops will be moving from Clinton Avenue and South Broadway to South Franklin Street Extension starting Thursday at 11 a.m.
From South Nyack: (1) Follow South Franklin Street Extension to Hillside Avenue. (2) Turn left at the traffic light onto Hillside Avenue. (3) Turn left at the traffic light onto Route 9W north. (4) Follow signs to the northbound or southbound Thruway.
