Reaching New Heights Project Webcams Capture Latest Efforts

In just half a year, Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) has transformed the New NY Bridge project site by connecting piers, installing road deck panels and doubling the height of the new main span towers. The iconic structures now rise above the existing Tappan Zee Bridge, with TZC preparing to install the first of nearly 200 stay cables.

Meanwhile, enormous segments of structural steel stretch out from the Westchester shoreline to the main span structures, thanks to the I Lift NY super crane. The massive machine allowed TZC to install the remaining amount of the Westchester approach’s steel for this phase of construction in just a few months.

On the Rockland side of the river, nearly 2,000 road deck panels pave the way for the new driving surface, with thousands more scheduled for installation before the end of the year. I Lift NY continues to set new segments of steel in the area and TZC has begun road deck panel installation on the new southern bridge.

The project’s construction webcams continue to dutifully capture the massive effort on the Hudson River. Onlookers can view the daily progress via the webcams and photo gallery, or follow the project on Twitter and Instagram. Onlookers are also encouraged to see the progress in person by visiting the New NY Bridge construction viewing platforms at Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park in Tarrytown or at Memorial Park in Nyack.
