Operations include landscaping, floor coating, pouring concrete, plumbing, electrical wiring, rebar, ceiling systems, and glass. Additional flatwork for the shared bicycle/pedestrian side path is also taking place along Route 9.

At the Rockland Landing, construction continues along the side path and the path’s underpass at South Broadway.

Additional work includes:

  • Installing gates, landscaping, drainage work, and striping near bridge landings
  • Area preparation at the New York State Thruway Maintenance and New York State Police facilities
  • Dismantling of the old bridge’s foundations, weather permitting
  • On-going testing of the bridge’s aesthetic lighting system

Boater Safety
The Hudson River’s main navigation channel is scheduled to be temporarily closed for work activities starting at 6 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, and is anticipated to reopen by 6 p.m. The time and date of the closure is subject to change and will be announced on the project’s Twitter feed (@NewNYBridge) and on Marine Radio Channel 22A.

Boaters are strongly encouraged to avoid the project site during the closure and the Regulated Navigation Areas, located east and west of the main channel, as cranes, barges and other equipment will occupy parts of the channel during this time.

Rockland and Westchester marine units continue to patrol the project site.

More boater safety information, including the U.S. Coast Guard Notice to Mariners, a construction site map and GPS-tracked construction vessel locations, can be found at NewNYBridge.com/Boater.
