“Front Row Seat” to Progress Outreach Centers, Viewing Platforms Popular with Public

With summer in full swing, the New NY Bridge project is making its most visible advancements to date. Those keen on observing the progress firsthand have a “front row seat” to the action, through the project’s viewing platforms and outreach centers in Tarrytown and Nyack.

The viewing platforms, funded in part by the New NY Bridge Community Benefits Program, are located on either side of the Hudson River.  Both offer panoramic views of New York’s largest bridge project, as well as informational panels and viewing scopes to get even closer to the action.

The project team also invites residents to visit the community outreach centers, located in downtown Tarrytown and Nyack. The centers, which are open seven days a week and staffed by college interns, now feature updated displays detailing the design and construction of the bridge’s iconic main span currently underway.

Visitors can even have a hands-on experience with some life-size materials from the project site, including enormous cross sections of steel piles, large enough for an adult to walk through, and several models of the bridge.

Can’t make it in person? The project’s construction webcams continue to dutifully capture the massive effort on the Hudson River. Onlookers can also view the progress in the New NY Bridge’s  photo gallery, or follow the project on Twitter and Instagram.
