Rows of towering piers stand in procession across the Hudson River as the New NY Bridge project steadily moves ahead.
Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) is progressively adding segments of reinforced concrete to the main span towers, which are approaching the halfway point of their total height. Crews also are completing work on the nearby anchor piers, which will help support the main span’s cable stay system.
Meanwhile, the I Lift NY super crane continues raising and placing massive steel girder assemblies for the Rockland approach and has now installed nearly half of the project’s structural steel.
TZC is chronicling this and other construction progress with still photography and video shot from land, water and air. Those interested in a closer look are invited to visit the New NY Bridge construction viewing platforms at Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park in Tarrytown or at Memorial Park in Nyack. Can’t make it in person? View the daily progress via the project’s webcams and photo gallery, or follow the project on Twitter and Instagram.
