The New NY Bridge Project Announces Bridge Art Show Now Accepting Submissions

The New NY Bridge project is now accepting submissions for its 2014 Bridge Art Show. The juried exhibit is an opportunity for local artists to showcase their interpretations of the new bridge design or the existing Tappan Zee Bridge.

The project’s Visual Quality Panel – which includes Rockland and Westchester representatives involved in the arts, architecture, planning and historic preservation – will select a Best of Show and two runners up. Accepted artwork will be on exhibit throughout the summer in the project’s Community Outreach Centers in Tarrytown and Nyack.

“We welcome submissions from painters, photographers or sculptors,” said Brian Conybeare, Special Advisor to the Governor for the New NY Bridge Project. “We are thrilled that visitors to the Community Outreach Centers will be able to enjoy local artists’ interpretations of the existing bridge or the new bridge design in addition to learning about the project’s remarkable progress.”

The deadline for entries is July 31.

The 2014 Bridge Art Show is presented in collaboration with ArtsWestchester, Rockland Center for the Arts, Rivertown Artists Workshop and Nyack Art Collective.
